The Berlin Wall

When our group arrived at the Berlin Wall it was not what I was expecting. Berlin currently doesn't have any pieces left of the wall as when the wall was torn down East Berlin sold the parts of the wall to various other countries. The only other wall you can see is the replica's they have on display. The Berliner I talked to was telling me how he was there when the wall came down. He told me that thousand's of people where in the streets singing and dancing having a blast. Also before the wall was done East Berlin had it a lot worse than the west. In the East you couldn't get many of the luxury things that we take for granted like mail and a lot of food products. If you even got your mail the Soviets would check all the mail and probably took it for themselves. The funny thing was that he told me David Hasselhoff was there and actually sang a song at the wall which I totally didn't know. The song was called "Looking For Freedom" which if you watch the video is moving but I still couldn't get over the fact that it was the Hoff. XD
